We love the Queen of Shebah and see her as an original disruptor. Ruling in her own right, she heard news of the wisdom of King Solomon. Shebah set off travelling many miles to challenge Solomon’s wisdom with riddles and questions. In some texts she and Solomon become lovers and had a child, in other texts we are told that Shebah travelled back to her kingdom and raised her child alone. What we do know is that she ruffled feathers. Appearing in Ethiopian, Arabic and Judeo-Christian traditions she’s an icon for all women to enjoy.
